Whitby, Ontario – Durham Region’s Black History Month celebration, Together We Rise Durham: Resistance, Resilience, Possibility returns on February 5, in-person, at the Audley Recreation Centre in Ajax.

Application deadline extended for Durham Region’s Anti-Racism Taskforce

Whitby, Ontario – The Region of Durham is currently seeking two community members and one institutional representative to join its Durham Region Anti-Racism Taskforce (DRART).
Established in 2021, DRART’s mandate is to act in an advisory role to Regional Council, through the Finance and Administration Committee, on issues related to racism.
All applicants must live or work in Durham Region. In addition, the institutional representative should be employed by any of the following organizations:

Whitby, Ontario – North Durham residents can share their ideas for what programs and services they would like available at the Beaverton Heights Community Hub. The Community Hub, which is located at the front of Beaverton Heights transitional housing, will offer services and activities to all residents in north Durham.
When: Attend an engagement session on either January 22 or January 24, from 2 to 3 p.m. To register to attend, visit durham.ca/CommunityHub.

Whitby, Ontario – In support of Durham Vision Zero, the Regional Municipality of Durham, in collaboration with the Township of Brock, will be installing 40 kilometres/hour (km/h) posted speed limits and a new community safety zone in Beaverton.
