Update 2 - Temporary closure of Ontario Works Office in Oshawa due to flooding

Whitby, Ontario – Durham Region is advising residents that the Ontario Works Office at 200 John Street West, Midtown Mall, Oshawa, will remain closed this week to allow for cleaning and repairs due to flooding.
Clients may visit the Community Resource Centre on the second floor of 200 John Street West to access limited supports. Ontario Works services and supports can also be accessed at Durham Region Headquarters at 605 Rossland Road East, Whitby.

Whitby, Ontario – Durham Region is advising residents that the Ontario Works Office at 200 John Street West, Midtown Mall, Oshawa, is temporarily closed due to flooding.

Why: Due to flooding.

Regional Council commits $8 million to support affordable rental housing development

Whitby, Ontario – The Region of Durham invites private and public sector partners to apply for the At Home Incentive Program (AHIP), which supports the development of affordable rental housing through Regional capital funding and application support services. This year, $8 million in funding is available through the AHIP.
To be eligible, projects must provide a minimum of five affordable housing units and may include:

Whitby, Ontario – Durham Region is advising residents of lane restrictions on Thickson Road North (Regional Road 26) in the Village of Brooklin, in the Town of Whitby.
When: Ongoing until April 30. Unfavourable weather conditions may impact the work schedule.
Where: Lane restrictions will be in place on Thickson Road North, from Carnwith Drive East to Baldwin Street North, in Brooklin.

Whitby, Ontario – Durham Region is advising residents of lane restrictions on Taunton Road (Regional Road 4) in the Municipality of Clarington.
When: Ongoing until summer 2026. Unfavourable weather conditions may impact the work schedule.
