Whitby, Ontario – Residents living with low income are encouraged to visit an ID and Benefits Access Hub this spring for help accessing a variety of government supports and services that can help.
Why: ID and Benefits Access Hubs can help residents:
- Learn about eligible benefits; there are more than 40 benefits in Ontario that can help boost your income.

Waste collection changes for Good Friday

Whitby, Ontario – With the upcoming Easter holidays, the Region of Durham has made changes to the scheduled curbside waste collection.
When and where: Ajax, Brock, Clarington, Pickering, Scugog and Uxbridge.
Residents who normally receive waste collection on Fridays are reminded that due to Good Friday, waste collection will take place on Saturday, April 4 instead.

Whitby, Ontario – The Region of Durham is advising residents of lane restrictions at the intersection of Thornton Road North and Rossland Road West in the City of Oshawa due to a watermain drain valve leak.
When: Lane restrictions will remain until the drain valve repairs are finished. The work is expected to be completed later this month, although unfavourable conditions could affect the schedule.

Weight restriction season on Regional roads begins March 9

Whitby, Ontario – The Regional Municipality of Durham and local area municipalities restrict the operation of motor vehicles on designated roads during the spring weight restriction season, as per the Highway Traffic Act and Regional By-law 26-2018. This affects vehicles that are heavier than 5,000 kilograms or five tonnes per axle.
