Road closure on Taunton Road in Clarington

Whitby, Ontario – Durham Region is advising residents of an upcoming road closure on Taunton Road (Regional Road 4) in the Municipality of Clarington, as part of the ongoing rehabilitation and reconstruction project for Taunton Road.
When: Road closure will be in place from October 29 to December 3. Entire project is anticipated for completion by summer 2026. Unfavourable weather conditions may impact the work schedule.

Whitby, Ontario – The Regional Municipality of Durham is advising residents of lane restrictions on Liverpool Road (Regional Road 29) in the City of Pickering.
When: October 15 to November 15. Unfavourable weather conditions may impact the work schedule.
Where: Southbound lane restrictions will take place on Liverpool Road, from Kingston Road (Regional Highway 2) to Highway 401, in Pickering.
Why: To allow for the installation of Enbridge Gas infrastructure.

Whitby, Ontario – Durham Region is advising residents of upcoming lane restrictions on Thickson Road North (Regional Road 26) in the Village of Brooklin, in the Town of Whitby.
When: October 21 to December 22. Unfavourable weather conditions may impact the work schedule.

Durham’s drinking water remains safe despite seasonal odours

Whitby, Ontario – The Region of Durham is assuring residents that municipal drinking water remains safe, even if an earthy or musty smell is present. These odours are caused by seasonal changes in Lake Ontario and are common in late summer and early fall.
Where: Municipal water supply systems across Durham Region, including the lakeshore communities served by Lake Ontario.
When: Taste and odour episodes typically occur in late summer or early fall and usually fade as lake temperatures cool.
