Summer hours for Oshawa and Scugog waste management facilities

Whitby, Ontario – Durham Region’s waste management facilities in Oshawa and Scugog have extensionended their hours of operations on Thursdays during the summer season.
When: The Oshawa and Scugog waste management facilities are open 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Thursdays only, from the first Thursday in May until the first Thursday in October.
Regular operating hours are Tuesday to Saturday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Durham briefed on four options for GO Lakeshore East Extension

Whitby, Ont. – On Friday, May 17, Metrolinx hosted a briefing with municipal representatives—from Durham Region, Clarington, Oshawa and Whitby—to discuss four options now being proposed by Metrolinx for the GO Lakeshore East Extension (GO train service, from Oshawa into Bowmanville).
During this meeting, all four municipalities confirmed their preference for Option 1, which extends GO train service to north of Highway 401 in Oshawa and Clarington.

Whitby, Ontario – The Regional Municipality of Durham, Works Department advises residents of a road closure and lane restrictions on Rossland Road West (Regional Road 28) from Thornton Road North (Regional Road 52) to William Davidson Street, in the City of Oshawa.
When:
- Road closure: June 8 and 9.

Whitby, Ontario – Durham Region’s Works Department has teamed up with the townships of Scugog and Uxbridge to offer free compost to residents at special events on May 25.
