Road closure on North Street in Newcastle

Whitby, Ontario – The Regional Municipality of Durham is advising residents of a road closure on North Street (Regional Road 17) in the Municipality of Clarington’s community of Newcastle.

When: October 21 to December 20. Unfavourable weather conditions may impact the work schedule.

Where: North Street, from Grady Drive to 550 metres north of Grady Drive, in Newcastle.

Why: To safely reconstruct North Street to support new development.

Whitby, Ontario – The Regional Municipality of Durham is advising residents of lane restrictions on Bloor Street West (Regional Road 22) in the City of Oshawa.

When: October 17 to December 17. Unfavourable weather conditions may impact the work schedule.

Durham Region to test nuclear public alerting system on October 29 and 30

Whitby, Ontario – The Region of Durham will conduct its annual test of the nuclear public alerting system on October 29 and 30. The system is designed to warn people in the unlikely event of an emergency at the nuclear-generating stations in Clarington or Pickering.

The test will take place during daytime hours, over two days:
