Ongoing lane restrictions on Harmony Road North

Residents and businesses are reminded of ongoing lane restrictions on Harmony Road North, from 1 kilometre to 1.5 kilometres north of Conlin Road East in the City of Oshawa. The lane restrictions will be in place until September 20, though unfavourable weather conditions may influence the work schedule.

The work is to safely construct new turning lanes and concrete medians to support new development. Drivers are asked to exercise caution for the safety of work crews and road users.

Roadway line painting operations are underway on Durham Roads

Until November, Durham Region’s roadway line painting operations are taking place primarily on weekdays between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m., with occasional weekend and nighttime operations.

Line painting on roads is an important road safety feature. Line markings are used to define lanes and guide traffic on roadways, as well as provide guidance to motorists, cyclists and pedestrians about allowable or prohibitive maneuvers.

Durham Region residents can now purchase new Green Bins, kitchen containers and backyard composters or exchange broken Green Bins and kitchen containers online with free delivery. Please allow approximately 10 days for delivery.

Diapers, menstrual products, incontinence products, pet waste and pet litter can now be disposed of in the Green Bin for weekly curbside collection.

Reserved lanes for buses and cyclists are a traffic control device to help improve cyclist, driver and pedestrian safety. Reserved lanes are clearly marked with overhead diamond signs, ground-mounted diamond signs and pavement markings.
