Celebrate Seniors’ Month at Thriving Together: Older Adult Safety and Wellness Day

Whitby, Ontario – Durham Region residents are invited to celebrate Seniors’ Month at Thriving Together: Older Adult Safety and Wellness Day.

This event includes an information fair featuring a variety of organizations that support older adults, including Durham Regional Police Service Older Adult Support and Investigative Services, Durham Region Paramedics, Ontario Health atHome, Community Care Durham and more. This is an opportunity for community members to connect directly with service providers and learn about the resources and support they offer.

What: Thriving Together: Older Adult Safety and Wellness Day. All are welcome to attend, and admission is free.

When: June 8 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Where: Region of Durham Headquarters, 605 Rossland Road East, Whitby.

Note: Thriving Together: Older Adult Safety and Wellness Day will include presentations at the following times:

• 10 a.m.: Opening remarks by Stella Danos-Papaconstantinou, Commissioner of Social Services.
• 10:30 to 11:30 a.m.: Presentation by the Community Paramedicine Program.
• 1 to 2 p.m.: Falls Prevention presentation by Community Care Durham.
• 2 to 3 p.m.: Fraud and Scams presentation by Durham Regional Police Service.
