Cherrywood area - City of Pickering - Water interruption - Public Notice
The Regional Municipality of Durham will be working on a watermain in the area of Cherrywood in the City of Pickering. In order to complete this work, it will be necessary to shut down the water supply system. This shut down will temporarily interrupt the water supply in the area. Please ensure you have an adequate supply of water available during this period.
The watermain valve replacement and scheduled maintenance work will be completed by Eagleson Construction and Regional maintenance staff. The water will be turned off for approximately 12 hours throughout the day (weather permitting) on Tuesday, April 29 from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
When your water is reinstated, it is important to turn on a cold water tap only and let it run for approximately five minutes. This will allow any sediment to be cleared that might have accumulated in your water service. This will also prevent any sediment from entering the hot water system.
Please note that the water supply may be reinstated before the time mentioned above. Regional staff will notify you if any unforeseen circumstances occur that would require rescheduling.
If you have any further question regarding this matter, or encounter any water related problems during this period, please contact the following staff members from the Regional Municipality of Durham Works Department:
