Durham residents invited to share feedback on Bill 100
Whitby, Ontario – Following a motion passed on April 29, Durham Regional Council is inviting residents to share their views on Bill 100, the Better Regional Governance Act, 2026, proposed provincial legislation that changes how the Regional Chair is selected.
What: Durham Region has launched a short public survey to gather resident feedback on Bill 100, including whether the Regional Chair should continue to be elected by residents.
When: The survey will be open from May 4 to 18.
Where: Residents are encouraged to complete the survey at durham.ca/Bill100.
Why: Public input will help inform Regional Council’s understanding of community perspectives on Bill 100. Survey results will be summarized in a public Council Information Package and forwarded to the Province of Ontario for consideration.
Note: The survey is open to Durham Region residents and takes only a few minutes to complete.
