Kick off Pride Month with Youth Pride Durham
Whitby, Ontario – Youth Pride Durham returns on June 1 for an afternoon of fun, music, dancing and food.
This free celebration will feature electrifying live drag performances; a DJ spinning catchy tunes; as well as face painting, a magic show, food vendors and resource village!
Durham Alliance Outreach, the only food pantry in Durham that prioritizes the needs of the 2SLGBTQI+ community, will be on-site collecting donations. Everyone is encouraged to stop by and donate a non-perishable food items.
This event is hosted by Durham Children’s Aid Society and The Regional Municipality of Durham. Partners include Durham Regional Police Service, Durham District School Board, Durham Children’s Aid Foundation, Dnaagdawenmag Binnoojiiyag Child and Family Services, the Town of Ajax, the Municipality of Clarington, the City of Oshawa, and the City of Pickering.
When: June 1 from 1 to 4 p.m.
Where: The Region of Durham Headquarters, 605 Rossland Road East, Whitby. The event will take place in the southeast parking lot. Complimentary parking is available onsite – please enter from Rossland Road East.
Why: Youth Pride Durham is a friendly, fun and inclusive celebration of 2SLGBTQI+ communities. It continues to champion acceptance by connecting children, youth and their families with resources available across Durham Region.
The Resource Village provides a forum for local community organizations and agencies to share information about the programs and supports they offer to 2SLGBTQI+ communities of all ages.
