Lane restrictions on Bloor Street West due to watermain break
Whitby, Ontario – The Regional Municipality of Durham is advising residents of a watermain break along Bloor Street West, west of the Stevenson Road intersection. Two westbound lanes of traffic have been diverted into the centre lane.
When: From May 22, until the repair is complete.
Where: The impacted area for lane restrictions includes Bloor Street West, Stevenson Road South to Oxford Street; Park Road South and Oxford Street to Sinclair Avenue, in the city of Oshawa.
Why: To safely repair the watermain break.
Note: Businesses and residents in the area may be experiencing a temporary water service interruption or decrease in water pressure for the duration of the repair. When the water service returns to normal, it is important for customers to turn on a cold water tap only and let it run for approximately five to 10 minutes to clean out any sediment that may have accumulated in your water service. This will avoid any sediment entering the hot water system.
The Region realizes that the work is disruptive and will make every effort to complete the work as quickly and efficiently as possible. Drivers are asked to exercise caution for the safety of pedestrians, cyclists and the work crews.
