Lane restrictions on Taunton Road in Pickering and Ajax

Whitby, Ontario – Durham Region is advising residents of upcoming lane restrictions on Taunton Road West (Regional Road 4) in the City of Pickering and Town of Ajax.

When: October 6 to June 2026. Unfavourable weather conditions may impact the work schedule.

Where: Daily lane restrictions will be in place on Taunton Road West, from William Jackson Drive to Ravenscroft Road, in the City of Pickering and Town of Ajax.  

Why: For the safe construction of a new watermain. Some residents in the area will experience intermittent water supply interruptions. The contractor will notify impacted properties 48 hours in advance of any planned service interruptions.

Note: The Region realizes that the work may be disruptive and will make every effort to complete the work as quickly and efficiently as possible. Drivers are asked to exercise caution for the safety of pedestrians, cyclists and work crews.

Access to residential driveways will be maintained whenever possible. Notification will be given to residents if vehicles need to be moved out of the driveway.
