Notice of Ajax Water Supply Plant Expansion Project Public Information Centre

The Region of Durham is holding a Public Information Centre (PIC) as part of a Class Environmental Assessment (Class EA) Addendum for the expansion of the Ajax Water Supply Plant (WSP) in the Town of Ajax.

The Region of Durham’s Official Plan projects significant population growth into 2051. As a result, the Ajax WSP must expand to accommodate an increase in water demand. Through a Class EA Addendum process, the Region will be considering and evaluating suitable alternatives for expanding the existing Ajax WSP facility.

A PIC is an opportunity for those interested to meet with the project team and learn more about the scope of the Ajax WSP expansion project, class EA Addendum process, existing conditions of the site, findings to date and next steps.​ The PIC will be conducted in an open house (drop-in) format, with a presentation from the project team and display material available for review. We encourage you to attend the PIC and provide your input on decisions that will move the study forward.
