Region of Durham Paramedic Services celebrates Paramedic Services Week, May 18 to 24
Celebrating the theme, "We Care. For Everyone.", and marking 25 years as a service of the Regional Municipality of Durham, local paramedics will observe the week by hosting an open house on May 24 at RDPS headquarters, 4040 Anderson St., Whitby, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Parking is available just north at the Hebron Christian Reformed Church, 4240 Anderson St. This open house event is free, and all are welcome to attend.
“During Paramedic Services Week, we proudly recognize and celebrate the extraordinary dedication, skill, and compassion of our paramedics. These professionals are often the first on scene, delivering critical care and comfort during some of life’s most difficult moments,” said Troy Cheseboro, Chief, RDPS. “Their tireless commitment to public safety, health, and service makes a profound difference in communities across Durham and surrounding regions. We thank our paramedics for their bravery and unwavering service — today and every day.”
This event will also include touch-a-truck and thank-a-paramedic stations, a photo booth with props, information booths and demonstration stations.
RDPS is a division of Durham Region Health Department. As one of the largest paramedic services in Ontario, RDPS is the sole certified ambulance service for Durham Region, consisting of more than 400 advanced care, primary care, tactical and community paramedics, responding from 12 paramedic stations located throughout Durham Region.
