Regional facilities and services impacted due to inclement weather

Due to the inclement weather, some Regional facilities and services are either closed or experiencing disruptions, including:

• The Ontario Works office in Uxbridge (2 Campbell Drive, Unit 301/305) is closed today.

• All Waste Management Facilities and the Household Special Waste Depot are closed for today. This includes the Sales Office at the Brock Waste Management Facility (C22480 Brock Sideroad #17). 

• Residential waste collection operations are ongoing, but curbside collections are delayed today. Residents should keep their materials at the curb until collected. Update: Residents in Pickering, Ajax, Clarington, Brock, Uxbridge and Scugog with scheduled Christmas tree collection tomorrow (Friday), please note, there will be no tree collection on Friday, January 16. Any outstanding Christmas trees will be collected during the week of January 19.
  
  
• The Oshawa Oral Health Clinic at 200 John St. West, Oshawa, will be closed at noon today and will reopen on January 16. 

• The Sexual Health Clinics at the Oshawa Centre and The Shops at Pickering City Centre will be closed at noon and reopen on January 16. 
  
  
• The Breastfeeding Clinic at the Oshawa Centre and Port Perry are closed today and reopen January 16. 
  
  
• Immunization Clinics in all locations are closed today and will reopen January 16. 
  
  
• Water sample drop off and pick up services at the following locations will be closed at noon today and reopen January 16:
  • Durham Regional Headquarters at 605 Rossland Road in Whitby.
  • Durham Region Health Department Port Perry Office at 181 Perry Street in Port Perry.
  • Township of Uxbridge Municipal Office at 51 Toronto Street in Uxbridge.
  • Garnet B. Rickard Recreation Complex at 2440 Durham Regional Highway 2 in Bowmanville.

• The Income and Employment and Homelessness Services Division (IEHSD) Community Resource Centre (C1A 200 John Street West) and the following Ontario Works offices are closed for the remainder of the day:

  • 140 Commercial Ave, Ajax.
  • 2 Campbell Drive, Uxbridge.
  • Regional Headquarters 605 Rossland Road East, Whitby.
