Road closure and lane restrictions on Farewell Street in Oshawa
Whitby, Ontario – The Regional Municipality of Durham is advising residents and businesses of upcoming lane restrictions and a road closure on Farewell Street (Regional Road 56) in the City of Oshawa.
When: Road closure will be from May 18 to December 2026. Construction for the entire project is expected to be finished by September 2027. Unfavourable weather conditions may impact the work schedule.
Where: A road closure will be in place on Farewell Street while maintaining access to local traffic, from Wentworth Street East (Regional Road 60) to Harbour Road, from May 18 to December. Lane restrictions will be in place for the duration of the project on Farewell Street, from Bloor Street East (Regional Road 22) to Wentworth Street East, in Oshawa.

Note: Traffic will be detoured onto Wentworth Street East, Simcoe Street South (Regional Road 2) and Harbour Road. Local traffic and emergency access will be maintained using the detour routes.
