Road closure on Park Road South in Oshawa due to watermain break
Whitby, Ontario – The Regional Municipality of Durham is advising residents of a road closure on Park Road South in the City of Oshawa due to a watermain break.
When: Until the repairs are complete.
Where: The watermain has been isolated on Park Road South between King Street West and Hibbert Avenue in Oshawa. The affected area extends west to Montrave Avenue and east to Nassau Street.
Why: To safely repair the watermain break.
Note: Businesses and residents in the area bounded from Stevenson Road to Harmony Road, and from King Street to Rossland Road in Oshawa, may have experienced a temporary water service interruption or low water pressure during the repair. Water service has now been restored.
Customers from Hibbert Avenue to the top of the zone may have initially experienced little to no water pressure; however, everyone outside of the isolated area should now have water restored at a reduced pressure.
When the water service returns to normal, it is important for customers to turn on a cold water tap only and let it run for approximately five to 10 minutes to clean out any sediment that may have accumulated in your water service. This will avoid any sediment entering the hot water system.
The contractor is on-site and has begun excavating to make the necessary repairs. More information regarding the expected duration of this service interruption will be provided as it becomes available. The Region realizes that the work is disruptive and will make every effort to complete the work as quickly and efficiently as possible. Drivers are asked to exercise caution for the safety of pedestrians, cyclists and the work crews.
