Road closures on Adelaide Avenue East and Wilson Road South in Oshawa due to watermain break

Correction: The original PSA listed Hillcroft Drive as the location; this has been corrected to Hillcroft Street.

Whitby, Ontario – The Regional Municipality of Durham is advising residents of road closures on Adelaide Avenue East and Wilson Road South in the City of Oshawa due to ongoing watermain break repairs.

When: Until the repairs are complete.

Where: The road closures are in place on Adelaide Avenue East from Central Park Boulevard North to Dover Street, and on Wilson Road South from Hillcroft Street to Colborne Street East in the City of Oshawa.

Why: To safely repair the watermain break.

Note: Businesses and residents in the area approximately bounded from Stevenson Road North to Harmony Road North, and from King Street East to Rossland Road East in Oshawa, may be experiencing a temporary water service interruption or low water pressure for the duration of the repair. When the water service returns to normal, it is important for customers to turn on a cold water tap only and let it run for approximately five to 10 minutes to clean out any sediment that may have accumulated in your water service. This will avoid any sediment entering the hot water system.

The Region realizes that the work is disruptive and will make every effort to complete the work as quickly and efficiently as possible. Drivers are asked to exercise caution for the safety of pedestrians, cyclists and the work crews.
