Share your thoughts at the Public Information Centre for Hopkins Street in Whitby
Whitby, Ontario – Have your say during an upcoming Public Information Centre (PIC). The Region of Durham is inviting the public to share their questions or comments on the preferred design solution for the reconstruction and widening of Hopkins Street (Regional Road 36) from Consumers Drive (Regional Road 25) to Dundas Street to include a two-way centre turning lane and a grade separation at the Canadian Pacific Kansas City (CPKC) railway corridor in the Town of Whitby.
When and where: An in-person PIC will be held for residents to review the presentation and provide feedback:
June 10 from 6 to 8:30 p.m.
Anderson CVI School (400 Anderson Street) in Whitby
If a resident is unable to attend the PIC, the materials presented will be posted online starting June 11 at durham.ca/HopkinsStreetEA.
Residents are invited to review the materials and submit comments using the Comment Form that will be available on the website, and comments are requested by July 9, 2026.
Why: A key component of the Study on the reconstruction and widening of Hopkins Street is consultation with interested parties and the public to share their thoughts and ask questions.
Note: At the conclusion of the Study, project findings will be documented in a Project File Report, which will be made available for a 30-day review period. A Notice of Study Completion will be issued to notify the public of the Project File Report’s availability.
