Statement from the Region of Durham on Chair Henry’s brief medical leave

The following statement is being issued by the Region of Durham regarding the medical leave of John Henry, Regional Chair and Chief Executive Officer: 

"Durham Regional Chair and CEO John Henry is taking a brief medical leave. 

During this time, Oshawa Mayor Dan Carter will chair Regional Council and Committee of the Whole meetings, as per the guidelines within the Acting Regional Chair By-law #59-2022. Mayors from all of Durham’s local municipalities will continue to collaborate, promote and advance the Region’s priorities. 

Chair Henry looks forward to returning soon and advocating for Durham Region across all levels of government."
