Upcoming eastbound lane closure on Winchester Road in Whitby

Whitby, Ontario – The Regional Municipality of Durham is advising residents of a lane closure on Winchester Road in the Town of Whitby. 

Where: The eastbound lane of Winchester Road will be closed, from Durham Street/Chelmsford Drive to east of Watford Street/Anderson Street, in Whitby.

When: May 5 until late summer 2025. Unfavourable weather conditions may impact the work schedule.

Why: To safely rehabilitate and widen Winchester Road. The lane closure will help increase safety for road users, pedestrians and work crews, allow for a more efficient flow of traffic, and aims to reduce the construction timeline.

Businesses in the area will remain open throughout the construction. Access to business entrances will be maintained whenever possible.
