Upcoming road closure on North Street in Newcastle

Whitby, Ontario – The Region of Durham is advising residents of an upcoming road closure on North Street (Regional Road 17) in Newcastle.

When: May 5 to September 26. Unfavourable weather conditions may impact the work schedule.

Where: North Street, from Grady Drive to 550 metres north of Grady Drive, in the community of Newcastle in the Municipality of Clarington.

Why: The closure is in place for road reconstruction work to support new development. Traffic will be detoured for the duration of the work. Detour notices will be in place.

Note: The Region realizes that the work may be disruptive and will make every effort to complete the work as quickly and efficiently as possible. Drivers are asked to exercise caution for the safety of pedestrians, cyclists and work crews.
