Waste collection changes for Canada Day
Whitby, Ontario – Residents are reminded that their normal waste collection day will be shifted to the next day the week of July 1 due to the Canada Day holiday.
Where: The Region is responsible for curbside waste collection in Ajax, Brock, Clarington, Pickering, Scugog and Uxbridge.
When: Waste collection scheduled for Tuesday, July 1 will be moved to the following day. This shift will continue through the rest of the week, ending with Friday, July 4 collection being moved to Saturday, July 5.
Why: The waste collection changes are due to the Canada Day holiday on July 1.
Note: Residents are encouraged to download the Durham Region Waste App or access the online collection calendar at durham.ca/Waste.
The Durham Region Waste App provides residents with customized collection schedules, reminders about collection days, the Know Before You Throw search tool and service alerts. Available on Google Play or in the App Store, free to download.
In addition to the curbside waste collection changes, the Region’s Waste Management Facilities in Brock, Scugog and Oshawa, and the Household Special Waste Depot in Clarington will be closed Tuesday, July 1. Regular operating hours will resume Wednesday, July 2.
