Public Health Inspections for Businesses
Health Department public health inspectors inspect local businesses. We inspect restaurants, convenience stores, public swimming pools, child care centres and salons, and check to make sure businesses are following the rules in the Health Protection and Promotion Act.
Public health inspectors also follow up on complaints related to animal bites, food safety, health hazards and water quality. Our tobacco enforcement officers handle calls relating to the Smoke Free Ontario Act, 2017.
