Durham Region Health Department offers resources to prevent substance use and to reduce the risk of harm, injury and death linked to the use of substances. To protect the public from the harmful effects of second-hand smoke and vapour, we also enforce the Smoke Free Ontario Act, 2017 and the Durham Region Smoking and Vaping By law 28-2019.
