With plenty of summer still left to enjoy, I’m pleased to share that Durham Region Health Department is now posting test results for all local public beaches inspected by the Health Department on our disclosure portal, Check&Go! Durham—making it easier to access real-time weekly inspection results. The Check&Go! Durham online disclosure portal is just one of the ways we’re modernizing our services; allowing people to access the latest information online, whenever it is most convenient for them. Throughout the summer, the Health Department tests water samples from local public beaches to determine if they are safe for swimming. Beaches are posted as unsafe for swimming when elevated levels of E. coli bacteria exceed the provincial standard. Through Check&Go! Durham, we’re able to provide residents with up-to-date, accurate information about public beach safety, helping residents to make informed decisions and protect their health this summer. Before you head out to one of Durham’s public beaches this summer, visit durham.ca/Beaches or visit durham.ca/CheckandGo to view the latest health inspection results. |
