AAC Award nominations are now open! Celebrate those who help improve accessibility in Durham Region
Whitby, Ontario – Durham Region’s Accessibility Advisory Committee (AAC) is pleased to announce that nominations for the 2025 Accessibility Awards are now open, and, for the first time, residents, peers, customers, etc. can also submit a nomination.
Community members and businesses in Durham Region are invited to nominate an individual or business that has made significant contributions to improving accessibility in the region.
When: Nominations are open until July 16, 2025.
Where: Information and criteria to nominate an individual or business for an Accessibility Award can be found on Your Durham, along with the nomination form. Residents can also get a printed copy of the nomination form from libraries located in their municipality, or at the front counter of Durham Region Headquarters at 605 Rossland Road East, in Whitby.
Why: Celebrating these successes is vital for raising awareness and dismantling barriers faced by persons with disabilities.
This year’s awards will be presented at the annual Accessibility Awards Celebration, which will be held in September 2025.
