Celebrate National Public Works Week at a free event in Durham Region
Whitby, Ontario – A heavy equipment simulator, face painter, Touch-a-Truck and more! Take part in our free, fun-filled community event on Saturday, May 23 and discover the many services provided by the Works Department as we celebrate National Public Works Week (NPWW).
When: Saturday, May 23 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. (rain or shine).
Where: Oshawa/Whitby Depot located at 825 Conlin Road, Whitby.
Activities include a tour of the services provided at the depot, face painting, Touch-a-Truck, information booths, an ice cream truck and the opportunity to try out one of our heavy equipment simulators. No pre-registration is needed; tours will be based on guest volume.
Why: From May 17 to 23, municipalities across North America celebrate NPWW. In Durham Region, this week is dedicated to recognizing the essential services provided by our Public Works staff to residents and businesses every day.
On behalf of The Regional Municipality of Durham’s Works Committee, John Henry, Regional Chair and CEO, has proclaimed the week of May 17 to 23 as National Public Works Week in Durham Region.
