Introducing Housing Durham! The new brand identity for Durham Regional Local Housing Corporation
Whitby, Ontario – With our new name, we’re showing what we do—every day, we are Housing Durham—by helping people find affordable, welcoming homes and building a stronger community for everyone.
Durham Regional Local Housing Corporation (DRLHC) will be known as “Housing Durham” with the tagline “Your home, your community,” and a new logo. This rebrand reflects the modernization of the organization, our mission and values, and better represents current and future tenants. The logo is inspired from the different types of accommodations provided. The colour green represents growth and community; and the colour blue represents stability, calm and security.
Housing Durham is the largest community housing provider in the region and is operated by the Region of Durham. The fresh new look was chosen in consultation with tenants, Board members and staff to ensure the new brand aligns with their needs and expectations.
The rebranding is part of our new strategic direction for Housing Durham, which includes revitalizing and redeveloping current sites to:
- Increase the availability of affordable housing that meets standards for accessibility and climate resilience, incorporating features like air conditioning and energy-efficient designs.
- Move towards building and supporting accessible, mixed-income vibrant communities, with a mix of new market and affordable rentals as well as rent-geared-to-income (RGI) homes.
