New protected left-turn signal at Regional Highway 2 and Courtice Road in Clarington
Whitby, Ontario – In support of Durham Vision Zero, The Regional Municipality of Durham has installed a new protected left-turn signal at Regional Highway 2 and Courtice Road in the Municipality of Clarington’s community of Courtice.
Where: The eastbound left-turn lane at Regional Highway 2 and Courtice Road in Courtice.
When: This new signal was installed on April 30 and is currently in operation.
Why: To improve safety for motorists, the fully-protected left-turn signal allows motorists to safely make eastbound left-hand turns from Durham Regional Highway 2 onto Courtice Road.
New traffic signal indications were implemented specifically for this movement to ensure motorists only turn left when the green left-turn arrow is visible.
