Waste collection changes for Good Friday
Whitby, Ontario – With the upcoming Easter holidays, the Region of Durham has made changes to the scheduled curbside waste collection.
When and where: Ajax, Brock, Clarington, Pickering, Scugog and Uxbridge.
Residents who normally receive waste collection on Fridays are reminded that due to Good Friday, waste collection will take place on Saturday, April 4 instead.
Residents are encouraged to download the Durham Region Waste App or access the online collection calendar at durham.ca/Waste.
The Durham Region Waste app provides residents with customized collection schedules, collection day reminders, the Know Before You Throw search tool and service alerts. Available on Google Play or in the App Store, free to download.
Garbage and green bin collection services for Oshawa and Whitby residents is provided by their respective municipalities.

Regional Waste Management Facilities and Household Special Waste Depot
The Regional Waste Management Facilities in Brock, Scugog and Oshawa, and the Household Special Waste Depot in Clarington, will be closed Friday, April 3, and Saturday, April 4. Regular operating hours will resume Tuesday, April 7.
Regional Waste Management Centre
The Region’s Waste Management Centre located at 4600 Garrard Road in Whitby will be closed Friday, April 3 and Monday, April 6. Residents are encouraged to purchase or exchange green bin and kitchen containers online with free home delivery. To take advantage of this service, visit durham.ca/NewBins.
