Your Durham gets a fresh look to make sharing your ideas even easier
Whether it’s an infrastructure project, a service improvement, or a plan that impacts communities across the region, your opinion matters. That’s why the Region of Durham is excited to share that Your Durham, our online community engagement site, has a refreshed look designed to make participating easier, clearer, and more accessible for residents.
What’s new and what’s staying the same
Behind the scenes, Your Durham has moved to a new digital engagement platform called Social Point. While the name, purpose, and commitment to meaningful community engagement remain the same, the updated design makes it simpler for residents to explore projects, find information, and share feedback online.

Making it easier to get involved
“We know residents want easy and accessible ways to stay informed” said Elaine Baxter-Trahair, CAO for the Region of Durham. “This refresh helps make Your Durham a more welcoming and user-friendly place for people to share their ideas and be part of shaping our communities.” The updated Your Durham site features clearer layouts, improved accessibility, and interactive tools that make it easier to understand projects and see how feedback is gathered. The changes were informed by resident feedback and are aimed at removing barriers to participation.
Designed with residents in mind
“While Your Durham takes on a refreshed look, our commitment to meaningful public engagement remains at the core of the platform,” said Alison Burgess, Executive Director of Communications and Engagement. “The updated platform offers a more modern, accessible, and user-friendly experience – making it easier for residents to find information, share feedback, and participate in conversations that matter to them. These enhancements support clearer, more inclusive, and effect engagement for our community, while also improving how staff share information and gather input.”
