Whitby, Ontario – Durham Region is advising residents of upcoming lane restrictions at the intersection of Taunton Road East and Anderson Street in the Town of Whitby.
When: Approximately June 9 to December. Unfavourable weather conditions may impact the work schedule.

Transit operators in legal strike position effective June 7
Whitby, Ontario – Durham Region Transit (DRT) will end scheduled bus service by 11 p.m. on Friday, June 6, 2025, due to the potential of a strike by Unifor Local 222 as early as 12:01 a.m. (midnight) on Saturday, June 7, 2025.

Durham Region Health Department advising of potential exposure to confirmed measles case

Whitby, Ontario – Durham Region Health Department is notifying the public of two measles exposure locations related to a confirmed measles case. The case is from outside of Durham Region but visited local venues while contagious.
There have been no cases of measles reported in Durham Region so far for 2025.
The Health Department advises anyone who believes they may have been exposed to the measles virus at the above locations to do the following:
