Upcoming closure on North Street in Clarington

Whitby, Ontario – The Regional Municipality of Durham, Works Department advises residents of a complete road closure on North Street (Regional Road 17) in Newcastle in the Municipality of Clarington.
When: The work will begin on May 21 and is expected to be complete by September 30, weather permitting.
Where: Full road closure on North Street, from Grady Drive to 970 metres north of Grady Drive in Newcastle.
Why: To safely reconstruct North Street to support new development.

Whitby, Ontario – The Regional Municipality of Durham is advising residents of an upcoming road closure on Mary Street in the City of Oshawa.
When: The week of May 13 to September 2025. Unfavourable weather conditions may impact the work schedule.
Where: Mary Street, from Rossland Road (Regional Road 28) to 150 metres north of Robert Street, in Oshawa.

Whitby, Ontario - Durham Region Health Department is encouraging all area residents and businesses located within 10 kilometres of the Pickering or Darlington nuclear generating stations to ensure they have a supply of potassium iodide (KI) tablets.
