Whitby, Ontario – The Regional Municipality of Durham is advising residents of upcoming lane restrictions at the intersection of Farewell Street and Wentworth Street East/Colonel Sam Drive in the City of Oshawa.

Whitby, Ontario – The Regional Municipality of Durham is advising residents of upcoming lane restrictions on Winchester Road in the Town of Whitby.
Where: Winchester Road, from Durham Street/Chelmsford Drive to east of Watford Street/Anderson Street, in Whitby.
When: July 2, 2024, to December 2025. Unfavourable weather conditions may impact the work schedule.
Why: To safely rehabilitate and widen Winchester Road.

Durham Region Health Department weekly beach report

Whitby, Ontario - The following represents beach-posting information for Durham Region beaches. Test results for the week of June 24 indicate that two public beaches are posted as unsafe for swimming. Beaches are posted as unsafe for swimming when elevated levels of E. coli exceed the provincial standard of 200 E. coli per 100 ml of water.
The Health Department reminds the public not to swim in beach water for at least 48 hours after heavy rainfall, as bacteria levels can increase due to run-off.
Durham Region to proceed with the redevelopment of DRLHC sites in Oshawa

Whitby, Ontario – Durham Regional Council has endorsed the feasibility analysis for the redevelopment of two Durham Regional Local Housing Corporation (DRLHC) sites, located on Christine Crescent and Malaga Road in Oshawa.
