Blue box recycling collection schedule changes in Oshawa and Whitby due to Family Day

Whitby, Ontario – The Regional Municipality of Durham, Works Department would like to remind Oshawa and Whitby residents of changes to scheduled curbside blue box collection due to Family Day.

When: February 18 to 23.

Where: Residents in the City of Oshawa and the Town of Whitby only, will temporarily have their blue box collection moved to the next day.

Lane restrictions on Lakeview Park Avenue in Oshawa

Whitby, Ontario – The Regional Municipality of Durham, Works Department is advising residents of upcoming construction on Lakeview Park Avenue in Oshawa.

When: Work will begin the week of February 11 and is expected to be complete in May. Lanes will be restricted for the duration of the project. There will also be a three-week road closure, with detour routes identified, which will be communicated once scheduled.

Lane restrictions on Simcoe Street North in Oshawa

Whitby, Ontario – The Regional Municipality of Durham, Works Department advises residents of lane restrictions on Simcoe Street North (Regional Road 2) in Oshawa, at Russett Avenue, to repave a section of road that was cut for watermain repairs. One northbound and one southbound lane on Simcoe Street North will be open while the work is being completed.

Whitby, Ontario – The Regional Municipality of Durham, Works Department advises residents of a road closure on Chapman Drive in Ajax.

When: Due to weather, this closure has been extended until February 8. Unfavourable weather conditions may further influence the work schedule.

Where: Chapman Drive, from Kingston Road West (Durham Highway 2) to Singleton Lane, in the Town of Ajax. Detours will be posted.
