Whitby, Ontario – The Regional Municipality of Durham, Works Department is asking Durham residents to help stop water theft by reporting suspicious activity around hydrants. The Region has new plastic rings to help the public quickly identify which hydrants are permitted water filling stations.
When: Throughout the spring, summer and fall months.

Whitby, Ontario – In appreciation of a continued community-wide commitment to the Regional organics collection programs, residents are invited to pick up compost, free of charge at a special event.
When: Saturday, April 22, from 8 a.m. to noon (rain or shine)

Park Road in Oshawa closed due to watermain break

Whitby, Ontario – The Regional Municipality of Durham, Works Department would like to advise residents and businesses that Park Road between King and Bond streets is closed due to a watermain break.
When: Repair work is ongoing and is estimated to be complete in eight to 12 hours, depending on site conditions.
Where: Park Road is closed between King and Bond streets, in the City of Oshawa.
Why: To repair a broken watermain and related damage to the road base and asphalt.

Whitby, Ontario – The Regional Municipality of Durham, Works Department, invites residents to drop off Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) and Municipal Hazardous or Special Waste (MHSW), free of charge, at a special upcoming collection event. Whitby, Ontario – The Regional Municipality of Durham, Works Department would like to advise residents that leaf and yard waste collection is starting back up in the townships of Brock, Scugog and Uxbridge, the City of Pickering, the Town of Ajax and the Municipality of Clarington.
