Drop off electronic waste, household hazardous waste and reusable items in Whitby on June 15

Whitby, Ontario – Durham Region’s Works Department, in partnership with the Town of Whitby, is hosting a Diversion Day on June 15. At the event, you can drop off electronic waste, household hazardous waste and reusable items, free of charge.
When: Saturday, June 15, from 8 a.m. to noon (rain or shine).
Where: Whitby Operations Centre, 333 McKinney Drive, Whitby.

There will be a scheduled service disruption at:
West entrance of Durham Regional Headquarters
605 Rossland Road East, Whitby
The estimated disruption will be from: Thursday, June 6, from approximately 10:30 a.m. until noon.
The disruption includes: Driveway approaching the west entrance of Regional Headquarters will be closed to accommodate Durham Regional Police Service Torch Run event.

New roundabout coming to the Township of Brock

This summer, The Regional Municipality of Durham will be constructing a roundabout at the intersection of Lake Ridge Road (Regional Road 23) and Regional Road 12/Pefferlaw Road (York Regional Road 21), in the Township of Brock.
The Region held a public information session in January 2018 to explain the plan to modify the existing two-way-stop-controlled intersection into a roundabout, and the benefits it will bring.

Whitby, Ontario – The Regional Municipality of Durham, Works Department advises residents of lane closures on Brock Road (Regional Road 1), from from 40 metres north of the westbound Highway 401 off-ramp to 80 metres south of Kingston Road (Regional Highway 2), and on Pickering Parkway east and west of Brock Road, in the City of Pickering.
