Celebrate diversity at Durham Newcomer Day 2026

Whitby, Ontario  – The Region of Durham invites residents to attend the first-ever Durham Newcomer Day, presented by Team Kartik.

Hosted by the Region of Durham, in partnership with the Durham Employment and Newcomer Centre, this free, family friendly event brings together newcomers and long-time residents to celebrate the diversity that makes Durham Region a great place to live, work and grow.

Attendees will have the opportunity to connect with others, learn about local programs and services for newcomers, and discover resources and opportunities available throughout the community.

The event also features cultural performances, community exhibits, a vendor marketplace, children’s activities and other special activities for all ages to enjoy.

More than a celebration of cultures, Durham Newcomer Day will help people build relationships, share experiences and learn from one another. It also creates opportunities for meaningful conversations that foster understanding, respect and a sense of belonging.
