Whitby, Ontario – The Region of Durham is advising residents of restrictions on Farewell Street in Oshawa maintaining one lane of southbound traffic with the northbound lanes closed.

When: Northbound lane closure is in place from now until November. Unfavourable weather conditions may influence the work schedule.

Where: The restrictions are in place on Farewell Street, from Bloor Street East to Wentworth Street East, in the City of Oshawa. Southbound traffic is permitted through this section while northbound traffic is being detoured. Detour routes are posted.

Why: This construction is part of the rehabilitation project for Farewell Street. For more information, visit durham.ca/FarewellSt

Note: Businesses in the area will remain open during construction. For business owners who would like to learn more about what to expect during construction, visit durham.ca/OpenForBusiness.

The Region realizes that the work may be disruptive and will make every effort to complete the work as quickly and efficiently as possible. Drivers are asked to exercise caution for the safety of pedestrians, cyclists and work crews.
