Lane restrictions and temporary lane closures on Westney Road North in Ajax

Whitby, Ontario – The Region of Durham is advising residents of upcoming lane restrictions and temporary lane closures on Westney Road North (Regional Road 31) in the Town of Ajax.  

When: Daytime October 14 to 16. Unfavourable weather conditions may impact the work schedule. 

Where: Westney Road North (Regional Road 31) from 100 metres south of Concession Road 5 to 100 metres north of Greenwood Road in Ajax.  

Why: Lane restrictions will be in place for the safe replacement of a culvert, ditching improvements and paving work. As construction progresses, temporary lane closures will be required to complete the asphalt surface. 

This work is to support development and maintain a safe roadway for travellers and construction workers. 

Note: One lane will remain open at all times with traffic control personnel in place to direct traffic.  

The Region realizes that the work may be disruptive and will make every effort to complete the work as quickly and efficiently as possible. Drivers are asked to exercise caution for the safety of pedestrians, cyclists and work crews.
