Motorcycle season is here! Motorcyclists are at high risk of sustaining injury in a collision. Approximately 63 per cent of motorcycle collisions result in an injury or fatality. All road users share responsibility in keeping motorcyclists safe.

Tips for motorcyclists:

  • Inspect your bike before every ride.
  • Wear appropriate safety gear.
  • Stay calm and alert when riding.
  • Pay attention to surroundings.
  • Obey traffic laws.

Tips for drivers of other vehicles:

  • Check mirrors and the surrounding area. Motorcycles can be more challenging to spot among larger vehicles.
  • Maintain a safe following distance behind motorcycles.
  • Don’t assume a motorcycle is changing lanes if they are shifting.
  • Exercise caution when approaching intersections and watch for motorcycles.
