With plenty of summer still left to enjoy, I’m happy to share that checking beach water quality in Durham Region is easier than ever.
Durham Region Health Department posts weekly inspection results for all local public beaches on our online disclosure portal, Check&Go! Durham, so you can quickly see the latest results before heading out for a swim.
Check&Go! Durham is part of our ongoing efforts to make important public health information easier to access. You can find the information you need, when it’s convenient for you.
Throughout the summer, our Health Department regularly tests water samples at local public beaches to make sure they’re safe for swimming. If E. coli levels are found to be above provincial standards, the beach will be posted as unsafe for swimming.
By making these results available online through Check&Go! Durham, we’re helping residents stay informed, plan their visits with confidence and enjoy a safe summer at the beach.

Have a great summer and enjoy Durham’s beautiful beaches safely!
