Multi-use trail closure and detour in Ajax

Whitby, Ontario – The Regional Municipality of Durham is advising residents of an upcoming multi-use trail closure and detour in the Town of Ajax.

When: Week of June 22 to December 31. Unfavourable weather conditions may influence the work schedule.

Where: Pedestrian and cyclist access to the multi-use trail within the Southwood Drive Sanitary Sewage Pumping Station easement will be detoured via Clements Road in Ajax.

Why: To safely complete sanitary sewer improvements next to the Southwood Park Public School. For more project details, please visit durham.ca/SouthwoodSewerReplacement.

Note: Traffic is not expected to be impacted by the active construction. The daycare at Southwood Park Public School will remain open during construction.

The Region realizes that the work may be disruptive and will make every effort to complete the work as quickly and efficiently as possible. Drivers are asked to exercise caution for the safety of pedestrians, cyclists, and work crews.
