Road closure on Liberty Street North in Clarington
Whitby, Ontario – The Region of Durham is advising residents and businesses of an upcoming road closure on Liberty Street North (Regional Road 14) in the Municipality of Clarington for the construction of a new roundabout.
When: The first phase closure will take place from September 9 to December 31. Unfavourable weather conditions may impact the work schedule. The entire project is expected to be finished by Spring 2028.
Where: The closure will take place on Liberty Street North, from Longworth Avenue to Bons/Freeland Avenue, in the Municipality of Clarington. Traffic will be detoured onto Longworth Avenue, Bowmanville Avenue (Regional Road 57) and Taunton Road (Regional Road 4).
Why: This work is part of road reconstruction, installation of sewer collection and watermain distribution systems, and the construction of a new roundabout. For more information and updates on the construction activity, please visit durham.ca/LibertyStreet.
