Road closure on Saintfield Road in Scugog

Whitby, Ontario The Regional Municipality of Durham is advising residents and businesses of a road closure on Saintfield Road (Regional Road 6) in the Township of Scugog to remove and replace the Saintfield Road Bridge, which carries Saintfield Road over Layton River.

When: July 6 to November 30. Unfavourable weather conditions may impact the work schedule.

Where: The road closure will be on Saintfield Road, from Old Simcoe Road to 150 metres east of the bridge, in Scugog. Detour routes will be in place.

Why: This work involves the demolition of the existing bridge and full replacement. For more information and updates on the construction activity, please visit durham.ca/SaintfieldBridge.

The Region realizes that the work may be disruptive and will make every effort to complete the work as quickly and efficiently as possible. Drivers are asked to exercise caution for the safety of pedestrians, cyclists, and work crews.
