Whitby, Ontario – Have your say during an upcoming Public Information Centre (PIC). The Region of Durham is inviting the public to share their questions or comments on the recommended design for the reconstruction and widening of Ritson Road North (Regional Road 16) from north of Taunton Road (Regional Road 4) to south of Conlin Road over the length of 1.75 kilometres in the City of Oshawa.

When and where: An in-person PIC will be held for residents to review the presentation and provide feedback:

June 24, 2026, from 6 to 8:30 p.m.
Kedron United Church (1995 Ritson Road North) in Oshawa

If a resident is unable to attend the PIC, the materials presented and the comment form will be posted online starting June 25 at durham.ca/RitsonRoadEA. Residents are invited to review the PIC materials and submit their comments using the Comment Form that will be available on the website. Comments are requested by July 24, 2026.

Why: A key component of the Municipal Class Environmental Assessment Schedule ‘C’ Study on the reconstruction and widening of Ritson Road North is consultation with interested parties and the public to share their thoughts and ask questions.

Note: At the conclusion of the Study, project findings will be documented in an Environmental Study Report, which will be made available for a 30-day review period. A Notice of Study Completion will be issued to inform the public of the Environmental Study Report’s availability.
