Distribution of December social assistance cheques

Whitby, Ontario – The Regional Municipality of Durham is advising Ontario Works (OW) clients who normally receive their monthly payments by mail to pick up their December social assistance cheque at their local OW office.
When: December social assistance cheques will be available for pick up at local OW offices effective Wednesday, November 28 at 11 a.m.; and on subsequent days during regular business hours, Monday to Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

There will be a scheduled service disruption at: Parking Garage, 605 Rossland Road, Whitby
The disruption will be from: Wednesday, December 19 to Monday, December 24.
The disruption includes: Northwest and southwest stairwells closed (all levels)

The Works Department is pleased to announce that the construction on Main Street (Regional Road 17) in the Municipality of Clarington (Orono Village), which began in the summer of 2017, is scheduled to be complete this fall.
