Annual roadway line painting operations begin

Whitby, Ontario – The Regional Municipality of Durham would like to advise residents that roadway line painting is starting. Drivers are asked to exercise caution when approaching these vehicles. Before heading out on the road, residents can follow line painting operations in real time using live traffic and navigation apps.

When: Operations are taking place primarily on weekdays between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m., with occasional weekend and nighttime operations, from June to November.

Works facilities participate in Doors Open to celebrate Durham Region’s 50th anniversary

Durham Region residents are invited to celebrate the Region’s 50th anniversary by attending our free, in-person family fun events on Saturday, June 15, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. (rain or shine).

Free events are being held at select Regional facilities:

  • Duffin Creek Water Pollution Control Plant (901 McKay Road, Pickering)
  • Durham York Energy Centre (1835 Energy Drive, Courtice)
  • Regional Headquarters (605 Rossland Road East, Whitby)
  • Scugog Depot (10 Goodwood Road, Port Perry)

Durham Region to proceed with design and construction of the Beaver River Bridge

Whitby, Ontario – The Regional Municipality of Durham, with the support of the Township of Brock and on behalf of the Ontario Ministry of Transportation, will be temporarily replacing the Beaver River Bridge until a permanent replacement can be constructed.

The Beaver River Bridge connects Regional Road 15 over the Beaver River, in the Township of Brock. The bridge has been closed since November 16, 2023. The Ontario Ministry of Transportation will fund the project, and Regional Council has...
