Whitby, Ontario – The Regional Municipality of Durham is advising residents of lane restrictions on Bayly Street (Regional Road 22) in the Town of Ajax.
When: July 8 through August. Unfavourable weather conditions may impact the work schedule.

Whitby, Ontario – An update on the Ritson School Project was presented to Regional Council on June 26.
The update included a Community Needs Assessment, which was prepared by Smart Density and LURA Consulting. The assessment highlighted the following key considerations:

Diapers, menstrual products, incontinence products, pet waste and pet litter can now be disposed of in the Green Bin for weekly curbside collection.
The revised program is designed to maximize waste diversion, minimize the waste being processed at the Durham York Energy Centre, increase convenience, and achieve compliance with Ontario’s Food and Organic Waste Policy Statement.

Mosquitoes test positive for West Nile virus in Durham Region

Whitby, Ontario - Durham Region Health Department has received notification that adult mosquitoes in Oshawa have tested positive for West Nile virus (WNV). This is the first mosquito batch in Durham Region to test positive for WNV this season.
